    WHAT
    Peak afternoon heat indices around 105 degrees expected.
    WHERE
    Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.
    WHEN
    From noon Saturday to 8 PM CDT Monday.
    IMPACTS
    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Fall Luncheon at St. Peter’s Evangelical Church on September 16th

April Schiltz from St. Peter’s Evangelical Church talks about the Fall Luncheon on September 16, 2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM.  St. Peter’s Evangelical Church is located at 119 S. Grove Street.  Lunch includes Chicken salad on a croissant or bed of lettuce with a selection of salads, pumpkin bar desert and a drink for $10 for adults and $5 for children.   Baked goods and frozen meals are available to purchase, call the church office at 309-853-2216 from 9 AM to noon to order and pick up during the Fall Luncheon.  Food available to purchase includes mini and 9″ Apple and mixed Berry pies, sugar free pies, Chicken pot pies in three sizes and homemade chili.  Baking instructions will be included with the frozen pies and meals.  There will also be a bake sale for a free-will donation during the luncheon.
