    IMPACTS
    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Final Rock Island Artists’ Market for 2023 on October 8th

The final Rock Island Artists’ Market for 2023 is this Sunday, October 8th, from 12 to 5 PM, in the parking lot of Skeleton Key Art and Antiques, 520 18th Street. The market is held on the second Sunday of each month from June through October. In addition to a variety of incredible artists, shoppers will enjoy live music by local musician Roger Carlson. This outdoor event is free to the public and family friendly.

Applications are now closed for the August market but artists interested in future markets can find more information and the application form under the “Rock Island Artists’ Market” tab on Skeleton Key’s website, www.skeletonkeyqc.com, or in person during regular store hours.
