The accident we posted about earlier that closed Highway 6 and Briar Bluff Road in Rural Colona was a vehicle fleeing from a Henry County Sheriff’s Office Deputy. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to Highway 84 and Poppy Garden Road for a vehicle that had fled from local Law Enforcement. A Deputy located the suspect vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle fled from the Deputy. During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle crashed and two additional vehicles were damaged during the incident. The five occupants of the suspect vehicle were transported by ambulance and MedForce to area hospitals. The occupants of the other vehicles were treated and released at the scene. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has requested the Illinois State Police conduct the accident investigation. The accident remains under investigation and more information will be released in the future.
