Outdoor enthusiasts, mark your calendars for an enchanting hike along the Hennepin Canal this May 19th. The Friends of the Hennepin Canal invite you to join the “Hike the Hennepin” event, a special 4.6-mile journey from Lock 6 to Lock 11, also known as the “Snapping Turtle.” This tribute trek honors the late Ed Herrmann, a beloved former hike leader, by renaming this pathway the “Ed Herrmann Memorial Hike.” The adventure starts at 1:30 p.m. at Lock 11, just north of Tiskilwa. Participation is free and open to all, no membership required. For more details, reach out to [email protected]. Ensure to dress for the weather and bring along a friend for this memorable outdoor experience.
