Galva Freedom Fest Fireworks Delayed to July 8th

Galva Freedom Fest Fireworks will not happen on the 4th of July 2023 as was planned. According to information provided by the City of Galva, the Freedom Fest Fireworks display has to be delayed to July 8th at dusk to the availability of the pyrotechnics company that provides the fireworks display for Galva. The company behind the pyrotechnics display stated that the inability to be at the 4th of July was down to a shortage of manpower. Thus, the City of Galva negotiated for a new date, Saturday, July 8th at dusk.

Events for Galva Freedom Fest will still get underway on Sunday, July 2nd, at 10 AM with the Ministerial Association Community Potluck and Church Service. Then, events will pick up again on Monday, July 3rd at 5 PM with the Pork Chop Sandwich dinner followed by music starting at 6 PM, the Blacktop Art Jam, also starting at 6 PM. and the Beer Garden opening at 6:30 PM with a live concert by High Jinx.

Events will continue on July 4th with the Lions Club Breakfast at 7 AM, the Antique Tractor Show from 8 AM to 10 AM, Food Vendors open at 11 AM and the Galva Freedom Fest Parade steps off at 12 Noon. Saturday gives everyone one more day to celebrate as Fireworks will be lighting the sky at Dusk on Saturday, July 8th with Food Vendors, a Dunk Tank Fundraiser, Facepainting, The Galva American Legion Presentation of the Colors at 7 PM and fireworks following the National Anthem as the sun goes down.
