April 1
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD in reference to a noise complaint involving neighborhood vehicles driving recklessly late at night.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 4th Street for a suicidal subject. Stark Co Medic also responded and transported the subject for evaluation / treatment.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street to assist a citizen.
April 2
Officer assisted Stark Co Medic with a medical emergency on NW 7th Street.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street for a disturbance complaint.
April 3
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of James B Young Road for a disabled vehicle that had ran out-of-gas. It was removed by the owner later in the day.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SE 2nd Street to assist the fire department with an odor of natural gas complaint. The odor was confirmed and Ameren was notified.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 9th Street to remove an unwanted subject. As the result, Jeffrey McBride, 28, Wyoming, was arrested on a Whiteside Co warrant for driving while license revoked. There was no bond and McBride was transported to the Henry Co jail.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th Street for a civil property dispute.
April 4
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 8th Ave for a possible intruder trying to gain access into residence. Officer checked the surroundings and determined that an outer storm door was swinging and slamming in the wind.
Officer, assisted the U.S. Marshal’s fugitive apprehension task force with arresting a Galva resident on a nationwide warrant in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street. As the result, Shannon Williams, 48, Galva, was arrested on a Motrovia, California, warrant for rape-by force / fear. He was unable to post the required $550,000 cash bail and was transported to the Henry Co jail to await extradition back to California.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NW 3rd Street for an activated burglar alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
While patrolling, officer saw a dog running loose with the owner close behind it in the 800 block of NE 3rd Ave. The dog was captured and returned home.
While patrolling, officer noticed a train had stopped and all Galva crossings were blocked. Employees of BNSF were contacted and said they were having mechanical issues. The train eventually was able to move along.
Officer assisted Henry Co with a traffic stop in the 300 block of SE 3rd Ave.
April 5
While patrolling, officer was flagged down in the 00 block of NE 6th Ave to answer questions about Galva’s burning ordinance.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4th Street for a neighbor complaint.
Officer met with a juvenile driver from a traffic complaint last week. As the result, a 16 year old juvenile was issued a juvenile referral to court services for the charge of criminal damage to property.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 7th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be a mis dial.
While patrolling on NW 7th Ave, officer recognized a subject known to have a warrant. After confirming the warrant, Larry Colwell, 31, Galva, was arrested on a Henry Co warrant for failing to appear on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. He warrant had no bond so he was transported to the Henry Co jail.
Officer spoke to a subject at the Galva PD in reference to an impounded vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to the west edge of town for a complaint involving a hitch-hiker walking in the area. Officer was not able to locate subject.
Officer, along with the fire department, were dispatched to the area of NW 8th Street and NW 5th Ave for a smoke report in the area. Officer and fire dept were not able to locate anything.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on North Center Ave for a complaint involving a juvenile making suicidal comments. The juvenile was transported by ambulance for evaluation / treatment.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on Main Street to check the welfare of a juvenile subject. The juvenile was located at a different residence on SE 3rd Street and was fine.
April 6
Officer was dispatched to Route 34 near Midland Road to check the welfare of a hitch-hiker that appeared to be sleeping in the ditch. The subject refused any police services and continued walking E/B towards Kewanee.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 9th Street to remove an unwanted subject.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Swank Street for a loose dog complaint. The dog was impounded and about an hour later, the owner was located and picked it up.
April 7
Officer was dispatched to the railroad tracks on Chester Street for a complaint involving criminal damage to property.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 3rd Ave for a complaint involving a suspicious incident.
Citations
April 1
Jaxon Schultz, 19, East Galesburg, was issued a citation for speeding in the 400 block of South Center Ave.
April 6
Bryce Shores, 27, Galva, was issued citations for not having any registration and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 300 block of Main Street.
April 7
Robert DeJaynes, 53, Oneida, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of SW 2nd Street.
