May 15
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4th Street to check the welfare of a resident. The subject was found to be deceased. The coroner was contacted.
Officer was dispatched to meet with a subject that found a baggie containing an illegal substance on North Center Ave. The baggie was collected and will be destroyed.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 1st Ave to assist a citizen.
Officer spoke to a resident on SE 1st Street about a suspicious vehicle driving around the area during the night time hours.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NE 4th Ave in reference to a suicidal subject.
Officer was given a cell phone that had been located in Wiley Park. Officer found out who owned the phone and returned it.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave to investigate the odor of natural gas in the area. Ameren was contacted for repairs.
May 16
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NW 2nd Street to take a report involving identity theft.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SE 1st Street to check the welfare of a subject.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of East Division Street for a report involving an unknown person possibly tampering with a vehicle. This report was unfounded.
May 17
Officer was dispatched to the Exchange Street railroad crossing for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to check Route 34 just west of town in reference to a motorist that may be impaired. Officer located the vehicle and stopped it. The impairment complaint was unfounded.
Officer was dispatched just east of town on Route 34 for a motorist assist for a subject that ran out of gas. A Henry Co deputy was able to bring fuel and the subject resumed his travels.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 6th Street for a complaint of two small dogs running loose. They were captured by their owner and taken home.
May 18
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2nd Street for a suspicious person complaint. The subject was leaving upon officer’s arrival.
Officer located a dog running loose in the 100 block of SE 1st Ave. Officer was able to contact an owner and contain the dog until they secured it back into house.
Officer was dispatched a couple miles west of town on Bonham Road to complete a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street for a 9-1-1 open line call. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was advised of a 9-1-1 call that plotted at a tower in the NE side of town. Officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer was advised of a possible revoked driver heading towards Galva from the Kewanee area. Officer was not able to locate subject.
Officer was dispatched to check for a reckless driver that sideswiped a guardrail east of town and drove off. Henry Co and Kewanee were able to locate the suspect vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to check on a disabled vehicle on Route 34 near 2250 East. It had already been towed back to Galva.
While patrolling, officer located a disabled tractor in the roadway in the 100 block of North Center Ave. The owner arrived and was able to get it moved.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 900 block of West Division Street, Juston Christianson, 46, West Peoria, was arrested for operating a vehicle with suspended registration. He was released with a required court date.
May 19
Officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. There was a strong language barrier. Officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer was dispatched to the Exchange Street railroad crossing for a report of a gate being broken off. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SE 6th Street for a suspicious person / vehicle complaint.
May 20
Officer was dispatched to deliver a message for Kewanee PD in the 300 block of SE 8th Ave.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 4th Street for complete a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Street to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 9th Street for an activated burglar alarm. It was a false alarm.
May 21
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 9th Street for a civil stand by to retrieve property.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave for a reckless driving complaint. Officer was not able to locate suspect vehicle.
