September 25
Officer met with subjects at the Galva PD to file a report involving ongoing child custody issues.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 6th Ave for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be an accidental mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 3rd Street in reference to a child custody dispute.
September 26
Officer was notified about a controlled burn taking place west of the high school.
Officer was flagged down in the 00 block of SE 1st Ave for a complaint involving a child custody dispute.
September 27
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Front Street for a theft / trespassing complaint.
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD to conduct a low speed vehicle inspection.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 00 block of SW 2nd Street, Matthew Hammons, 39, Kewanee, was arrested for not having a drivers license, operating an uninsured vehicle, and operating a vehicle when registration is suspended for no insurance. He was released with a required court date.
September 28
Officer was flagged down in the 500 block of East Division Street and handed a cell phone that had been found in the roadway here. The phone appears to have been ran over by a vehicle.
Officer, along with the Galva Fire Department, escorted the Abilities Plus clients into Galva for their annual picnic at Wiley Park.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 2nd Ave to conduct a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 4th Ave for a harassment and disorderly conduct complaint involving juveniles.
Officer was dispatched to the Exchange Street railroad crossing for a complaint of a juvenile riding a bicycle along the tracks. Officer was not able to locate.
September 29
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NE 3rd Street for a welfare check after suicidal text messages were received. No contact was made.
Officer was dispatched to the east edge of town to watch for a reckless driver that was reportedly heading towards Galva. Officer did not locate suspect vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to Washington Park for a complaint involving an occupied suspicious vehicle parked there. Subject was not breaking any laws.
While patrolling, officer removed debris from siding that was laying in the roadway in the 300 block of SW 6th Ave.
Officer was dispatched to check the welfare of a subject walking in the 300 block of SW 4th Ave. The subject was reportedly talking to himself and a flashlight. Officer did not locate.
September 30
Officer was dispatched to Wiley Park for a complaint of an occupied vehicle parked in the grass that appeared to be watching young children. Officer responded and spoke to the subject. Officer stayed in the park for a while and the vehicle moved along.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SW 4th Street for a 9-1-1 open line call. It was determined to be an accidental misdial.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Commercial Street for a report involving a hit-and-run accident. Complainant’s vehicle suffered damage from an unknown vehicle. A report was completed.
Officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of SE 2nd Street to check on a motorcyclist that layed their motorcycle down on it’s side. They were not injured and were able to drive away.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 8th Ave for a loose dog complaint. The owner came and retrieved the dog.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 5th Street for a report of someone yelling for help. Officer located a subject that was looking for her loose dog, which was found.
October 1
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 4th Ave for a neighbor dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 4th Street for a vehicle repossession.
Officer was dispatched to the Galva Park District for a 9-1-1 open line call during youth soccer games. Hundreds of people were present and officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of North Center Ave for a report of a strong smell of smoke. Officer located a subject burning items in the yard. Subject was advised today was not a burn day. The fire was put out.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 1st Street for a complaint of juveniles running through their yard in the dark. Officer located the subjects, who claimed they were playing a game.
Officer checked on a disabled vehicle in the 100 block of North Center Ave.
Officer checked a residence for a subject for Kewanee PD in reference to a violation of an order of protection. The subject no longer lives in Galva.

Justine Anderson, 35, Monmouth, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1200 block of SE 2nd Street.
R.C. Anderson, 45, Monmouth, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1200 block of SE 2nd Street.
