Paula Simosky won a narrow re-election as Geneseo First Ward Alderman on Tuesday. Simosky beat out challenger Luke S. Johnson by a mere 14 votes to earn her re-election. Final totals, 148 for Simosky, 134 for Johnson. 2nd Ward Alderman Robert James and third ward alderman Martin Rothschild were unopposed in their re-election bids. Meanwhile, in the Geneseo 4th Ward, two candidates were vying to replace Alderman Brett Barnhardt. In that race, Kent Swanson narrowly defeated Kisha Shoemaker 150 votes to 127 votes to earn a place on the Geneseo City Council.
