Geneseo High School Ranks High in U.S News and World Reports Best High Schools in America

Geneseo High School has climbed the ranks in the latest 2024 Best High Schools report by U.S. News and World Report. Now positioned 81st within Illinois and 2,134th nationally, GHS shows a significant improvement from its previous standings. This places the school well above many of its peers in a comprehensive evaluation across 17,655 national schools. With an overall score of 87.91, Geneseo High maintains its second-place regional position, just behind Pleasant Valley High School. Superintendent Dr. Adam Brumbaugh and Principal Tom Ryerson express their thoughts on GHS’s progress and what this means for the school’s future. In a statement on the school website:

“Geneseo High School continues to build off of its strong foundation of academic and athletic excellence by adding more dual credit courses, more vocational opportunities, and more extracurricular activities each year,” stated Superintendent Dr. Adam Brumbaugh. “We are proud to be recognized for those efforts.”

“This achievement is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our exceptional teachers, the diligent efforts of our committed staff, and the unyielding support of our community,” said GHS Principal Tom Ryerson. “Together, we have fostered a positive and nurturing environment where excellence is not only expected but also celebrated. We are extremely proud of this recognition at Geneseo High School.”
