Geneseo Man Pleads Guilty to Dissemination of Child Pornography

Jason J.V. Moore, 43, of Geneseo entered a partially negotiated plea deal on December 1, 2022.  He has been in custody on a $250,000 (10%) bond since February of 2021.  Moore pleaded guilty to Count 1 of Dissemination of Child Pornography and the remaining four counts will be dismissed by the State.  A sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 18, 2023, at 10 AM.  The plea deal caps the sentence to the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) at 6 to 15 years.  A Class X Felony is punishable by 6 to 30 years in IDOC.  Following  his release, he will serve three years to life of Mandatory Supervised Release and register as a sex offender.

Moore disseminated a video of a child engaging in acts of sexual penetration with another person that he knew, or should have known, was under 13-years-old.  Moore was charged with five (5) counts of Dissemination of Child Pornography (Class X Felony) on February 4, 2021.  On October 28, 2020, Illinois State Police initiated an investigation after receiving information that Jason Moore was engaged in Possession or Dissemination of child sexual exploitation material or child sexual assault material.  Investigators seized evidence from a search warrant that supported an arrest for Child Pornography.

The Geneseo Police Department, Henry County State’s Attorny’s Office and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office – Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children assisted with the investigation.
