Lead(h)er of the Quad Cities celebrated their seventh anniversary with a birthday party that honored outstanding women and their contributions to the community on September 23rd. The celebration was a memorable evening filled with connection, inspiration and empowerment. Three women were honored at the event for their outstanding achievements, commitment to mentorship and the Lead(h)er Mission. Girl on Fire winners received a custom glass trophy from Hot Glass Incorporated.
Samantha Widener was chosen for Mentor of the Year because she consistently goes above and beyond to guide and support her mentee in 2023. Samantha supported her mentee with outstanding empathy, leadership and charisma. She jumpstarted her mentee’s involvement in volunteering and networking in the Quad Cities community. “Her dedication to mentorship has had a profound impact on her mentee’s personal life and career, making her a true inspiration to the Lead(h)er community!”
Emily Cummings was chosen for Mentee of the Year because she has displayed remarkable determination and growth under her Mentor, Irene Borys. Irine nominated Emily for her outstanding achievements and continuous commitment to personal and professional development which make her a shining example for others to follow. “Not only was Emily a model mentee, but she now has also become a mentor to another Quad Cities woman!”
LuAnn Haydon was chosen for Found(h)er of the Year because she is one of the visionary leaders behind Lead(h)er and was recognized for her tireless dedication to enpowering women and creating opportunities for those women. Her warm demeanor and willingness to mentor so many individuals has transformed countless lives in the Lead(h)er Community! “LuAnn believes in the mission of Lead(h)er, is a dedicated Found(h)er’s donor, and supports the organization in creative ways going above and beyond whenever possible!”
