Residents in Henry and Stark Counties have a new way to safely dispose of medical sharps, thanks to a grant from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. The Henry & Stark County Health Department will install Residential Sharps Collection Kiosks at six locations across both counties. This initiative, spearheaded by Public Health Administrator Duane Stevens, aims to reduce the health and safety risks associated with improper disposal of needles, syringes, and lancets. Collection sites include several First Choice Healthcare Clinics and the Geneseo Police Department, among others. This effort, in collaboration with local law enforcement and other county officials, provides convenient and secure disposal options for community members.
