Henry County has announced that Geneseo business owner, Kelly Wolf, owner of Caffeine and Carbs, to lead and administer the RISE Grant program. RISE, or Research in Illinois to Spur Economic Growth, is intended to identify strategies to reestablish tourism in Henry County. According to information provided by Henry County Economic Development Director, Jim Kelly, “During the upcoming 9 month project, Kelly will continue meetings with tourism/hospitality industries for input to improve tourism in the County and begin developing a strategy to connect assets, festivals and hospitality services in a sustainable manner to cultivate our tourism industry. ” Henry County is working with municipalities to re-establish the Henry County Tourism Board.
