Henry County Jail Employee Arrested for Smuggling Contraband into the Jail

An employee of the Henry County Jail has been arrested after an investigation determined that the employee was allegedly smuggling contraband to inmates at the Henry County Jail. 32 year old Jessica M. Lindquist was arrested on Sunday, August 27th, 2023, by the Illinois State Police DCI Zone 2, after they were asked by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office to investigate contraband getting into the Henry County Jail. It is alleged that Lindquist, who was employed as a cook at the jail, used that position to bring contraband into the jail and disseminate to inmates. The type of contraband being brought into the jail was not specified by the Illinois State Police investigators. Lindquist is charged with Bringing Contraband into a Penal Institution (Class 1 Felony) and Official Misconduct (Class 3 Felony). There is no word yet on whether any further charges may be filed in this case.
