According to a release from Illinois State Police District 7, Interstate 80 westbound at milepost 7 will be down to one lane until further notice due to a semi striking the I-80 underpass at Cleveland Road. Illinois State Police ask drivers to use caution if traveling in the area. All other roadways have reopened from the accident and hazmat cleanup.
According to a release from the Illinois Department of Transportation, a truck carrying a crane struck the I-80 underpass from Cleveland Road. The crash damaged three beams. The bridge inspection deemed the structure safe for traffic use but will remain one lane until repairs are made
