The Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources have released new County by County statistics regarding Deer Strike Accidents. By the numbers, between 2018 and 2022 Henry County tracked 862 accidents involving deer strikes in Henry County. There were 171 deer strikes in 2018, 192 in 2019, 125 in 2020, 195 in 2021 and deer strikes were down slightly between 2021 and 2022 from 195 to 179 deer strike accidents in Henry County. 862 deer strike accidents places Henry County in the middle of the pack when it comes to deer strike accidents by county statewide.
As for Stark County, over the period of 2018 to 2022, there were 157 deer strike accidents. That breaks down to 48 accidents in 2018, 36 in 2019, 23 in 2020, 32 in 2021, and down significantly year to year 2021 to 2022 from 32 deer strike accidents in Stark County to just 18 such accidents in 2022.
