The Illinois Foundation FFA has partnered with the Illinois Department of Agriculture and Farm Family Resource Initiative SIU School of Medicine Center for Rural Health and Social Service Development to boost mental health awareness. Funding from the ‘Bend, Don’t Break’ grant will be directed to local FFA chapters including Cambridge and Galva FFA. The purpose is to promote mental health outreach in their communities. The selected chapters will each receive a $1,000 grant. Post-project, the grant recipients will share an event summary and its impact on mental health and wellness awareness. The initiative is expected to give both FFA members and farmers a profound understanding of mental health.
