Three people have been arrested following a shooting incident on I-39 in LaSalle. According to information provided by the Illinois State Police, the incident occurred on October 27th at around 8 Pm, near Hope Township at Milepost 40 in LaSalle County. There police received a call regarding a vehicle from which shots were fired at other vehicles. Illinois State Police responded and located the suspect vehicle at Milepost 75 near Mendota. At that time, an occupant of the vehicle fired shots at Police, striking the squad car. The Officer inside was not harmed and continued the pursuit. Unfortunately, the vehicle escaped before having been rediscovered by ISP Air Operations on I-39 Northbound near Monroe, IL.
The vehicle continued all the way past the Wisconsin border. ISP in coordination with the Clinton, Wisconsin Police were deploying stop sticks when the vehicle ran out of gas and pursuing officers on the ground were able to apprehend the suspects.
Under arrest are 43-year-old Heather N. Hyatt of Sun Prairie, WI is charged with Manufacture/Delivery Fentanyl, Manufacture/Delivery Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine/Base, and Maintain Vehicle for Drug Trafficking;
41-year-old Michael D. Winch of Brooklyn, WI is charged with Probation Violation, Maintain Vehicle for Drug Trafficking, Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, Possession with Intent to deliver Fentanyl, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of THC;
38-year-old Michael B. Goodman of Madison, WI is charged with Vehicle Operator Fleeing/Eluding an Officer, Reckless Driving, Failure to Stop at Stop Sign, Maintain Vehicle for Drug Trafficking, Manufacture/Delivery Fentanyl, and Manufacture/Deliver Cocaine.
All three are being held in the Rock County Jail in Wisconsin awaiting a bond court hearing.
