For the first time in 15 years, Indiana Jones is back on the big screen and coming back to Kewanee. The Wanee Theater announced today that Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny opens on Friday, June 30th. The 5th installment of the Harrison Ford led franchise, and the first since 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull, finds Indiana Jones on the brink of retirement when he’s confronted by his god-daughter, Helena, played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, about a legendary artifact that he had taken from her father. The legendary Dial of Destiny was made by Archimedes and is believed to be able to help travel through time. Also on the trail of the Dial of Destiny is a former Nazi, played by Mads Mikkelsen. He wants the Dial to take him back to Nazi Germany so he can win the war.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny has received mostly positive reviews from critics with a fresh rating on RottenTomatoes.com of 66%. The movie opens Friday at the Wanee Cinemas.
