Update: Accident Cleared I-80 Bridge Re-Opened

IL State Police District 7 has announced that the accident involving a jack-knifed has been cleared and I-80 Bridge is back open to traffic.

A jack-knifed Semi-Truck has stopped traffic on the I-80 Bridge from Illinois to Iowa. The Illinois State Police and fellow first responders are on the scene this morning at the I-80 bridge responding to the accident and they are asking drivers to please avoid the area. Currently traffic in the area is being diverted to IL Rt 84. Motorists are strongly encouraged not to travel in this area. There is no word on the progress of clearing the accident scene. No other details regarding the accident are being released. IL State Police posted the update regarding the Bridge closure just after 6:30 Am this morning, Friday, December 23rd.
