Kewanee Police arrest four people in connection to the fatal stabbing of a 38-year-old Kewanee man on Saturday night. Around 9:24 PM on Saturday, Kewanee Police responded to a disturbance in the area of Hope Way and North Lakeview Street. According to Kewanee Police, Officers arrived at the scene to find a male on the ground suffering from stab wounds to the chest and abdomen. The first Kewanee Police Officer on scene immediately began CPR until Paramedics from the Kewanee Fire Department arrived and began emergency medical care. The victim was transported to OSF Saint Luke’s Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. Clifton Parks, 38, of Kewanee was identified as the decedent.
Officers gathered statements from witnesses at the scene and were able to identify suspects, which were apprehended without incident. Detectives from the Kewanee Police Department began a homicide investigation with the assistance of detectives from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police. A 14-year-old male and a 16-year-old male, both from Kewanee, were arrested for their actions in the homicide. The 14-year-old male was arrested and charged with Mob Action and Aggravated Battery. The 16-year-old male was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Mob Action. Both juveniles were transferred to the custody of the Mary Davis Juvenile Detention Center in Galesburg, Illinois.
Justin Kentner, 34, of Kewanee was arrested on preliminary charges of Aggravated Battery and Obstructing Justice, he was transported to the Henry County Jail. Andrea Peach, 35, of Kewanee was arrested for Obstructing Justice and was issued a notice to appear with a court date of May 22nd, 2023 at 1 PM at the Henry County Courthouse.
