Several months ago, I stumbled over a story about an artist named Richard Estes. Kewanee was mentioned as his birthplace and it got me curious. I sent a message to our friend and Kewanee Back When co-host, Dave Clarke who just happened to recognize the name. In fact, he’d written an article in the Star Courier nearly 30 years ago about artist Richard Estes, born in Kewanee but having grown up in Sheffield.
