The City Council approved Resolution #5386 to Gustafson Ford. The proposal would trade the Go Cart track next to The Station restaurant for the parking lot at 1st and Chestnut streets. This allows Gustafson Ford to expand operations from the old DuraBowl building, which they are currently renovating for expansion. Moore Tires offered #17,501 for the parking lot at 1st and Chestnut to use for employee parking. The trade allows the City of Kewanee to continue to assist tourism activities that use the go cart track property, such as Hog Days and the Prairie Chicken Festival. The City Council indicated at the meeting that the City intends to enter a lease agreement with Moore Tires to allow their employees to park in the lot next to The Station restaurant.
