Members of the Kewanee Education Association, teachers at Kewanee schools, were once again picketing outside of the Kewanee School District Administration building. In a post on the Kewanee Education Association Social Media, members indicated plans to protest from 9 AM to 12 Noon and they’ve invited the public to join in.

“Today, Thursday, August 10, 9am-noon, KEA members and our supporters will be picketing in front of the admin office at 1001 N. Main St. again.
The public is welcome to come and support us!
Please remember to wear RED!
You can pick up your sign from Amanda Johnson in the North East skate park parking lot, or you can bring your own. We need strength in our numbers!
Please plan ahead for yourself: bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses, an umbrella(?!), snacks, etc., and remember, no bathroom facilities are available.”

The protest follows the announcement that the Kewanee School District has called for Federal Mediation over the dispute between the District and Teachers over teacher pay.
