The Kewanee FFA was among those honored at the yearly National FFA Conference this week in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Kewanee FFA Chapter was honored as a 3 Star Chapter, one of only 18 FFA Chapters to receive the honor in the State of Illinois. Kindra Callahan is the FFA Advisor for the Kewanee FFA Chapter and she tells WKEI
“To put it simply, Abigail DeSchepper walked off the stage smiled and said “Mrs. Callahan I hope we get to walk across that stage again.” These young people are eager to make an impact. These students also desire a feeling of belonging. FFA has been the inclusive organization where these individuals have felt accepted and encouraged to be more. While they far exceeded my expectations last year, I am even more inspired by how they wish to grow this year. They are aspiring AgVocates. My hope is that each one of our Kewanee FFA members is proud of their our leadership and how they are the catalyst for strengthening agriculture in our community.”
Congratulations to the Kewanee FFA on being honored as a 3 Star FFA Chapter at the 95th Annual National FFA Convention. Also honored among area schools were the Cambridge FFA and the Bureau Valley FFA.
