Kewanee FFA Members Shine at State FFA Event in Springfield

Members of the Kewanee FFA traveled to Springfield this week for the Illinois FFA statewide convention. Kewanee FFA members took part in various events and won awards and recognition for their hard work in the study of Agriculture in Illinois. In a message sent to members of the media on Thursday morning:

“Kewanee High School FFA students attended the Illinois State FFA Convention June 13-15 in Springfield. On June 14, 2023, Kyle Joos, Kiersten Yordy, and Rachel DeRycke received their State FFA Degrees. During the convention, the Kewanee FFA Chapter was recognized as an all gold chapter for excellence in their program of activities (POA). Their POA will now go on to compete at the national level. The chapter was also recognized for 25 years of contribution to the Illinois Foundation FFA. Daniella Chavez competed in Spanish Creed Speaking and took 2nd place overall in the State of Illinois. Congratulations to the FFA members and their advisors Mrs. Callahan, Ms. Ruemker, and Mr. Meyer for a successful convention and an outstanding year.”
