Kewanee Police Officers, who are part of the Henry County Special Operations Squad, we’re involved in the fatal shooting in Toulon this morning. According to a release from Sergeant Michael Minx, members of the Kewanee Police Department were involved in the officer involved shooting this morning but the Kewanee Police Department is unable to comment on the shooting while the investigation is ongoing by the Illinois State Police. A Toulon man is dead after being shot by Officers attempting to execute a warrant. According to the Illinois State Police, around 6:30 AM the Henry County Special Operations Squad was serving an arrest/search warrant at an apartment in the 500 block of North Olive Street when the occupant of the residence attempted to strike Officers with a machete. Officers discharged their weapons striking the male subject. The male subject was transported to an area hospital where he was declared deceased. No officers were injured during the incident.
