June 10th is the official date for Kewanee Pride Fest. Organizers of the event made the date official on social media with an event page for the first annual event. June 10th from 12 Noon to 6 Pm is the plan. From the event announcement:
“Fun for everyone! Join us in celebrating the love in the LGBTQ+ community with food, entertainment, and activities! Bring a lean chair, grab a snack, and relax on a beautiful June Saturday with us! 
Kewanee, Illinois”
The event has been a top subject for the Kewanee Commission on Human Relations which has opened a dialogue with locals who raised concerns about a Pride event in Kewanee at recent Kewanee City Council Meetings. More plans for the event, which will take place at Northeast Park, will be announced as the June 10th date gets closer.
