It was a busy weekend for the soccer team, went to the invitational at Earlville since Friday, our first game was against Earlville high school. The game was a hard game, we kept possession of the ball, creating the most goal opportunities but not making it into the goal, at the end we lost 4-1 .
Cristian Cazares scored for the Boilermakers from an assist of James Roginski.
Saturday morning we played against Yorkville Christian. The game went well for the Boilermakers, since the beginning our idea was to take possession of the ball, and not let Yorkville have it, Kewanee played aggressive and it paid at the end winning the game 8-0 . Cristian Cazares scored 6 goals, Michael Bermudez 1 goal and James Roginski 1.
Second game on Saturday we knew it would be hard against DePue, in my years coaching, we had not defeated them in this tournament, but we played believing we we change history, game started and our boilermakers team looked very strong, Tyson Currie erased from the field their best player, and kewanee little by little took possession of the game winning the match 8-1; history was changed, Cristian Cazares scored 4 goals, James Roginski 2 goals and Jack Coombes 2 goals.
For the first time kewanee made it to 5th position in war on 34 with one lost game and two wins.
