    Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.

    From 10 AM this morning to 8 PM CDT Tuesday.
    IMPACTS
    Hot temperatures and humid conditions may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Overnight temperatures in the 70s will provide little relief for those without air conditioning.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Kewanee VFW Opening Doors Saturday for Banding4Benefits Poker Run

In Kewanee this Saturday, the VFW Post 8078 is set to host a significant gathering as part of the 2nd annual Banding4Benefits Poker Run. Opening its doors at noon, the post invites local veterans to join in and welcome the riders, including organizer Matt Kershner, arriving around 12:30 PM. The event, aimed at supporting five VFWs, continues with stops at Orion and concludes at the East Moline VFW. Attendees can purchase koozies for $5 and raffle tickets for $10. Special thanks are extended by the VFW and the community to local businesses including Time Out Pub & Grub, Breedloves Sporting Goods, and Kewanee Mel Foster Real Estate for their support.
