In a heartwarming continuation of tradition, Kewanee VFW Post 8078 announces its 2024 Poppy Kids, a vital part of their long-standing Buddy Poppy Program supporting veterans and their families. This year, Mattingly Lewis-Raley and Kam Autery have been named Poppy Girl and Poppy Boy, respectively. Mattingly, daughter of Army National Guard veteran MacKenzee Lewis and Scott Raley, is a bright first-grader at Southwest Elementary. Kam, son of Josh Autery, the Junior Vice Commander and Army National Guard veteran, brings joy from Lyle Pre-School. Their representation symbolizes the ongoing commitment to veteran welfare and community support.
