The pig that has lived on McClure Street in Kewanee for some time caused a stir on Thursday that sent multiple law enforcement units to respond.  The pig, reportedly a “Service Pig,” has been the subject of other police calls. However, due to the Pig’s status as a Service Animal, the police can’t force the removal of the pig from city limits.  The son of the homeowner was able to get the pig safely back inside the home.  The elderly homeowner, and owner of the Pig in question, suffered minor injuries but is going to be ok according to Kewanee Police.  Potbellied Pigs can grow to be 80 to 180 pounds and live 12 to 15 years.
