A long time member of the team at Peoples National Bank has now taken his place on the board of directors at Peoples National Bank. Mark Russell, who retired in 2020 after 35 years with PNB, has now been added to the Board of Directors at Peoples National Bank. Asked about the addition of Mark Russell, Bank President Chip Eastman said, “Mark has been a valuable member of the PNB team for many years and has played a key role in the growth of the bank. His banking experience will be very beneficial as we continue to expand our services. We are looking forward to Mark’s continued involvement with PNB.”
RegionalMediaNews.com reached out to Russell for comments of his own regarding his joining the PNB Board: “A directors responsibility is to oversee the affairs of the bank as a whole. They oversee senior managements daily operation of the financial institution. The board will adopt sound policies and spell out the objectives pertaining to the financial health of the bank. The board will continually monitor compliance with all banking laws. As a board member, one is expected to be active within the communities the bank serves. The board must make sure the stockholders, communities, and employees are served in a reasonably fashion. I hope this gives an insight into a member’s duties.”
Mark has lived his whole life in Kewanee and has four kids with his wife Terri. One of his four children is WKEI’s very own Jennifer Russell.
