    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Moline Fire Department Battles Garage Fire

On February 18th, 2024, at 9:35 pm, the Moline Fire Department rushed to extinguish a flaming garage at 1836 46th Street. Arriving within three minutes, the first responders encountered the garage fully ablaze. Despite the intense heat, the crew launched a bold attack on the flames, with following units providing essential water supplies and assistance. The blaze was quelled in only twenty minutes, though teams remained onsite for an extra hour to ensure complete safety. No injuries were reported, and the fire did not impact any nearby structures. The incident is currently under scrutiny by the Moline Fire Department Bureau of Investigations.
