Moline Police Investigating Fatal Traffic Crash

The Moline Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic crash. According to Investigators from the Moline Police Department, the accident occurred on Saturday, February 4th, in the area of 17th Street and River Drive. Just before 8 Pm on Saturday, Moline Police received a call regarding an accident involving two vehicles. At the scene, Police found a Accord, driven by a 69-year-old, female from Rock Island, had been traveling  westbound on River Drive. The Honda made a southbound turn onto 17th Street. A Harley Davidson motorcycle,  driven by a 22-year-old, male from Davenport was traveling eastbound on River Drive. The two vehicles collided  in the intersection. The driver of the Motorcycle was badly injured at the scene and taken to the nearest local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Moline Police Department Traffic Unit is conducting an investigation. The initial results indicate that speed is believed to be a significant factor in the cause of the crash.
