The National Weather Service have updated the likely winter storm conditions for Thursday into Friday and Saturday. Currently, the National Weather Service is not predicting much snow but rather other conditions that can play a significant part in severe winter weather. Specifically, the National Weather Service points to heavy wind in 35 to 50 mile per hour wind gusts and temperatures that could drop 20 to 40 degrees below zero with the Wind Chill Factor. Any snow that does arrive in this storm could also provide a hazard in blowing or drifting snow which would have an impact on travel early Friday into early Saturday morning. If you do plan to travel during this time, be sure to have a winter preparedness kit in your vehicle including
Cell phone, portable charger, and extra batteries.
Items to stay warm such as extra hats, coats, mittens, and blankets.
Battery-powered radio with extra batteries.
Flashlight with extra batteries.
Water and snack food.
