Tom Hanks’ latest film, A Man Called Otto will debut at the Wanee Cinemas on Friday, January 27th, 2023. The film stars Hanks as a very grumpy man named Otto. Following the death of his wife, Otto begins to plan the end of his own life until his new neighbors, played by Mariana Trevino and Manuel Garcia Rulfo, come into his life and become a surrogate family for him, despite his angry protestation.
Regional Media Film Critic Sean Kernan says “A Man Called Otto is Tom Hanks at his best.” The film is warm and funny even as Tom Hanks is cast wildly against type as the meanest man on his block. A Man Called Otto debuted in theaters in late December to mostly positive reviews from critics and a lukewarm box office reception. The film has earned just over $56 million dollars at the worldwide box office.
