No Injuries from an Early Morning Fire in Galesburg

No injuries were reported from an early morning fire in Galesburg that caused an estimated $14,000 in damages. The Galesburg Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Blaine Avenue around 5:20 AM on June 4, 2023. Crews arrived to see smoke coming from the attic of the residence and the four occupants of the residence evacuated prior to fire department arrival. The fire was confined to the attic, which sustained heavy fire damage, and the interior of the home sustained minor smoke and water damage. Off-duty fire personnel were activated to provide emergency coverage for the City. Galesburg Fire Investigators determined the fire to be unintentional.
