Oneida Man Pleads Guilty to Aggravated Assault of a Galva Police Officer

Jason Ader, 21, of Oneida accepted a plea deal on Friday for the Aggravated Assault with his motorcycle of a Galva Police officer.  On July 4, 2022, Officer Robertson was directing traffic following the fireworks when a motorcycle driven by Jason Ader revved the engine of the motorcycle and sped towards Officer Robertson, making no attempt to swerve away from the Officer.  Officer Robertson was forced to jump out of the way of the motorcycle, injuring his hand during the incident.  Jason Ader received 30 Months Conditional Discharge, 180 days in the Henry County Jail with Day-for-day credit, 60 days of the sentence are stayed pending compliance of the plea, credit for time served, $3,000 fine plus assessments, submit a blood and saliva sample, send an apology letter to Officer Robertson within 60 days, Attend Driving School and submit the Certificate with 60 days, and No contact with Officers Robertson or Wager unless Law Enforcement related.  Mr. Ader will report to the Henry County Jail on July 19, 2023, to serve the 120 days (60 days with the day-for-day credit).  Mr. Ader will pay the $199 owed after bond applied by May 15, 2023.
