The Peoria Riverfront Museum is set to showcase its latest acquisition, “Our Greatest Inheritance,” a stunning 10 x 7-foot painting by artist Alfred Conteh. This event marks a significant milestone as it is the first commissioned artwork by a nationally recognized artist outside of Atlanta, Georgia to be added to the museum’s prestigious collection. The public is invited to attend the unveiling and dedication press conference on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Alfred Conteh selected the painting’s subject, a local family, during his explorative visits to Peoria, capturing the essence of the community. This significant piece was funded through private donations, enhancing the cultural heritage of the museum. After the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from key figures including Alfred Conteh and Museum President John D. Morris. Don’t forget to RSVP to secure an interview spot at this monumental event.
