    Peak afternoon heat indices around 105 degrees expected.
    WHERE
    Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.

    Until 8 PM CDT Monday.
    IMPACTS
    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Person Missing on the Rock River found by Drone and Transported to Safety

A person reported missing on the Rock River was located by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Drone Operator, Deputy Adam Sovanski, Monday night.  The Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Rock River boat ramp for a person that went missing while tubing on July 3rd around 9:18 PM. Henry and Rock Island Counties emergency services responded to the area and began a search of the river and surrounding areas.  According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the individual was rescued from the river and transported to safety.

The following emergency services were involved in this incident: Colona Fire, Colona PD, Coal Valley Fire, Genesis ambulance, Henry County Office of Emergency Management, Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office and their drone, Silvis Fire, Rock Island Fire, Carbon Cliff fire, Hampton Fire, Geneseo Fire, Sherrard fire, Moline Fire, Illinois Department Of Natural Resources, and Illinois State Police Troop 2.
