State Representative Dan Swanson announced that he is seeking re-election for the 71st State Legislative District.  Representative Swanson said  “Illinois families are having a harder time every day paying for fuel, mortgage payments, property taxes, or childcare.  The Biden economy is making it harder for families in Western Illinois to get by, and bad policies in Springfield are only making it worse. I am working everyday to make Illinois a more affordable place to live, to hold our state government accountable and to pass common sense policies. That’s why I have voted against tax increases and voted to support small businesses. I am running for re-election because there is still more work to be done.”

Swanson is a 5th generation farmer on the Swanson family farm and served over 27 years in the United States military. In the legislature, Swanson has focused on building Illinois’ economy, improving Illinois higher education, increasing access to childcare, and supporting agriculture, first responders and veterans.
The 71st District is a long district spanning from the southern part of the Quad-Cities down to Galesburg, over to Monmouth and south to Macomb. It includes parts of Henry, Mercer, Rock Island, Knox, Warren, and McDonough counties.  Dan Swanson and his wife, Tammy, live near Alpha. For campaign updates, visit swansonstrongil.com.
