In a recent update, State Representative Dan Swanson expressed dissatisfaction with the U.S. Postal Service’s shift of distribution duties from Milan to Des Moines, Iowa. Swanson criticized the move due to its potential for delays and inconvenience for rural route mail recipients, who rely on the service for a multitude of needs, including business and medication deliveries. The USPS had previously identified the Milan facility to transition into a Local Processing Center. Despite significant local opposition voiced during an informational meeting in February, the decision remained unchanged.
