Representatives from the Henry, Rock Island, and Mercer County Farm Bureau are set to announce the results for the latest iteration of the Bushels for Hunger fundraiser today in Rock Island. According to information provided by the Rock Island County Farm Bureau, a press conference will be held today at 11 Am at the River Bend Food Bank in Davenport, Iowa. At that event, Farmers and Farm Bureau representatives will deliver a check to the Food Bank that will be used to purchase needed items, especially food items that will be donated to families in need in Eastern Iowa and West Central Illinois. It’s the 13th year for Bushels for Hunger which has farmers donating a portion of their grain at their local grain elevator to Bushels for Hunger. That grain is sold and the money from the sale becomes part of the donation to the River Bend Food Bank. Over the course of 13 years, more than $277,000.00 has been raised for the Food Bank, not counting what will be donated today in Davenport..
