1:02 PM – According to the Kewanee Police, there is no active threat to the community at this time. Law Enforcement asks people to avoid the area so they can safely work the incident
There remains a heavy police presence in the area of the shooting. We have reached out to Kewanee Police as well. Avoid the area and report anything suspicious to police.
There was reportedly a shooting this morning in Kewanee on Birch Place. We are monitoring scanner traffic and multiple Deputies are on foot searching for a possible suspect in the area. A male victim was reportedly shot in the leg. Kewanee units are en route to assist with the search. We have reached out to Sheriff Verscheure inquiring if residents should stay indoors. AVOID the area and let law enforcement do their job safely.
