More than 30 students from Annawan, Galva and Kewanee High Schools attended Manufacturing Day at the Black Hawk College Welding and Skilled Trades Center in Kewanee. The day started with a tour of Martin Engineering in Neponset followed by interactive sessions at the Welding and Skilled Trades Center.
Students were introduced to the college’s virtual welder, welding simulators, CNC milling machine and 3D printer. Students also met with reps from four local manufacturers and learned about the college’s IGNITE advanced manufacturing program. The following businesses participated in Manufacturing Day: Bo/Gar Enterprises Inc., Wyoming, FMC – An Agricultural Sciences Company, Wyoming, Great Dane, Kewanee, JH Best, Galva and Martin Engineering, Neponset.
