Aledo’s very own country music legend, Suzy Bogguss is coming to Bishop Hill for a free concert. According to the Bishop Hill Heritage Association, the concert was made possible by a grant from the American Rescue Plan that is being used to help bring tourism back to the State Historic Site. Thus, they were able to bring Suzy Bogguss to Bishop Hill for a free show that will also feature Morgan Myles as the opening act. The concert will take place outdoors in the Village Park, barring any bad weather, on August 5th, starting at 1 PM. The concert will be over by 4 PM. Suzy became a headlining hitmaker in the late 80s and early 90s with hit songs like “Drive South,” “Hey Cinderella,” and “Just Like the Weather.”
Morgan Myles, if you missed it, has become a regular performing in the area. So much so that when she appeared on NBC’s The Voice, parties were held in Cambridge celebrating Morgan’s time on the show. Morgan has become a rising star in country music playing concerts with the likes of Jake Owen, Old Dominion, and Luke Bryan. She’s also found great success on YouTube where her time on The Voice and her singles have been viewed millions of times. The chance to see these incredible performers live and for free doesn’t come often. You have that chance on Saturday, August 5th, at 1 PM in Bishop Hill.
