Teens in Stolen Car Ram Police Cruiser, Lead Police on Multi-City Chase

A pair of teenagers, one from Rock Island and one from Moline, are in custody following a car theft and Police chase through Moline and Rock Island. According to information provided by the Moline Police Department, just after 4 Pm on Tuesday afternoon, a resident in the 700 block of 51st street contacted Kewanee Police and stated that their Kia Sportage had been stolen from in front of their home. On the way to the scene, a Moline Police Car spotted the vehicle at which time, the driver of the vehicle rammed into the Police car and fled. From th Moline Police Department “The officer pursued the vehicle which drove through Moline, into Rock Island, back into Moline and then back into Rock Island where the vehicle stopped in an alley near McCandless Park in Rock Island.” The two suspects attempted to flee on foot but were each captured by Moline Police. The suspects are a 15 year old male from Rock Island and a 15 year old female from Moline. Both were given juvenile referrals to court services.
