Peak afternoon heat indices around 105 degrees expected.
WHERE
Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.
WHEN
From noon Saturday to 8 PM CDT Monday.
IMPACTS
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

The Car, Truck and Motorcycle Fourth of July Show by the Street Cruisers Car Club

The Street Cruisers Car Club and Gustafson Ford 4th of July Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show goes until 3 PM today at Francis Park in rural Kewanee. Voting begins at 11 AM and awards are presented to the winners at 2:30 PM. Come check out the many vendors in the Craft/Flea Market and delicious food vendors, such as the Boy Scouts grilling Pork Chops. Proceeds from the car show support Honor Flight and Humane Society/Wildlife Rescue. Follow Cruising the 4 Lanes on Facebook to keep up-to-date with the Street Cruisers Car Club.
